Location and Local Attractions

Located only 1km from one of the new championship quality golf courses, that is due to be completed in late 2007. And only 16kms away from the attractive ski resort – Borovets. This offers excellent skiing in the winter, with brilliant hiking in the summer months. Dolna Banya is the location for the very first private flying school with training programs available. A major attraction of Dolna Banya are the heated mineral springs and for just a few Lev, you can access the local spas and enjoy their healing properties.

An interesting event for local people and visitors is the European Ecology Festival which took place for the second time this year. The Festival is aiming to turn into an annual event in the future. At the beginning of May (7th, 8th and 9th of May) famous Bulgarian and foreign critics, movie producers, directors, journalists, scientist etc. meet here. They are people who are interested in ecology and environment protection and people who are working in this field of knowledge and activities. The symbol of the festival is the Stork because Dolna Bania is famous for having the most stork nests.

Only 1/4 of a mile away is a new 'Wellness Island' which is a joint venture between the Dolna Banya Municipality and a German company.
